Light Rigid (LR)
Our light rigid course is designed to not only teach you how to operate the vehicle but also refresh your understanding of all relevant road rules and truck safety procedures. This course will equip you with the knowledge required to successfully pass your Qld Transport practical driving test.​
​To be eligible, you must have held a Class C (automatic or manual) licence for at least one year.
With an LR licence, you can drive a truck or bus no more than 8t GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass.)
This includes prime movers and mobile cranes.
You are also permitted to tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 9t GVM.
Our LR course includes a 4.5 hour training session followed by a 30 minute practical test with a Qld TMR examiner. This price does not include the theory test, which is a requirement for getting your LR licence.
You can take the multiple-choice theory test at any Qld TMR Customer Service Centre; no appointment is necessary. The test has 10 questions, and you need to answer at least 8 correctly to pass.
Practical tests are conducted by a Qld TMR examiner from Maroochydore, Nambour or Tewantin Qld TMR Customer Service Centre.
